Welcome to Horsin’ Around!

Thank you for visiting us, and welcome to the new Horsin’ Around Website! This site is basically to provide proof that yes, we’re here! We’re a Central Oregon group of women that get together for trail rides, training, hauling, cleaning and just about anything else you can do with horses. We’re also friends, neighbors and relatives, spending some much needed time together enjoying the Central Oregon beauty.

Because we are a new group and are just getting things organized, please give us some time to get this system down! Until then, have a look at our about us page and maybe send in a joining form to test the grass on this side of the fence!

News!

04-09-10 // THEME CHANGES! I am currently working on some of the coding to our custom theme, so we will temporarily be using this non-custom (though lovely) theme in the meantime! Thanks gals, Heaven

01-31-10 // What a great new year so far. We had a really successful nutrition clinic, and a few get togethers among the gals. The mud and the yuck has slowed us down on riding a bit, but the days are slowly getting longer and spring is just around the corner!

12-22-09 // Working on the new site. It’s been a fantastic year, and we’re almost a year old! Woohoo! Can’t wait for the weather to get better so we can ride!

09-12-09 // Wow! Our site has been up for several months now, the blog is working (check it out) and we’re all dreading winter. I guess we’ll be riding indoors more as the weather gets more and more reliable!

04-17-09 // Waiting for domain approval, about ready to upload the website. I need to get out – the weather is great today!

  1. Did you know that more injuries come from dull blades than from sharp blades???? YEPPERS, you heard it here.

I just discovered a resource that it top notch. The name of her business is EDGEMASTER and the phone number is 541-788-5783. Turns out Amy Dannis, owner, is a horse person and my neighbor. On Wednesdays Amy runs a route sharpening tools/knives with a professional machine. She is certified sharpener. Her grandfather and father were sharpeners, which makes her third generation skilled. Third generation of sharpeners she learned from her grandfather the way to do it with oil and a whetstone (like my dad used to do).

Today Amy came to my house and one hour later 12 knives, 4 garden tools, and 4 pair of scissors were sharp and ready to use. Reasonably priced too! Garden tools ranged from 14″ clippers, to loppers, to snips. I asked Amy to inform me which ones were not worth sharpening, she did that. She does pizza cutters, pocket knives, you name it.

She lives in N.E Redmond and runs her route on Wednesdays. She comes to your home and does the work onsite with a professional machine. So you don’t have to leave your stuff somewhere and wait a week and go pick it up.

Please call her if you need this service.
